The fall TV season has its first bona fide hit.

The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” based on the novel series by Cecily von Ziegesar, has been picked up for a full season.

Airing Wednesdays, “Gossip Girl” revolves around the lives of young
adults on New York’s Upper East Side. The ensemble cast includes Blake
Lively, Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford. The series is narrated by
an unseen blogger (Kristen Bell), who fuels controversies and stirs up
rivalries among the group of friends.
